KOPFKINO WINS ADWEEK'S
2020 PODCAST OF THE YEAR AWARD
For BMW’s fictional “Hypnopolis” podcast, creative podcast production company KOPFKINO has been awarded with Adweek’s prestigious “2020 Podcast of the Year Award” in the Branded Podcast category. Set in 2063, the sci-fi podcast, produced in collaboration with German ad agency Jung v Matt and White Horse Music, introduces global audiences to a world in which criminal cases are judged by an AI, with deep-sleep hibernation as the punishment for offenses. When a journalist awakens after a 30-year sentence for a crime she didn’t commit, she sets out to find the real perpetrator. While the BMW brand plays a limited role in the 6-episode season, the theme and storyline of the podcast communicate an important brand message for BMW: a positive future outlook on technology.
HYPNOPOLIS is the very first global fictional podcast series for BMW. During six episodes, the story takes its heroine Hope (and the listeners) on a thrilling adventure into the year 2063.
The series stormed the podcast charts in 53 countries, with 11 No. 1 spots and 40 Top Ten positions.
